CotG: 09 Spectrum Hanley Ramirez

The Mets really had to fight for this victory against the Phillies. It was quite the nail biter with a lot of tense moments and momentum changes. The thing I noticed the most is that Santana is not as dominant lately (although he helped himself out with a clutch double) and the Mets finally showing some power. In the end it was a great win to show that the Mets are real contenders in the NL East.

I picked up a blister pack of 2009 UD Spectrum Baseball without checking the price. It ended up being $4.99. What a rip-off.

The pack:
Aaron Rowand
Carl Yastrzemski Upper Deck 20th Anniversary
Hanley Ramirez Blue
Miguel Tejada
Edinson Volquez

This is a terrible pack. The CotG (Card of the Game) is Hanley Ramirez because it is probably the best card of the bunch and because with Jimmy Rollins and Jose Reyes, the NL East has the best shortstops. (Although I admit that this statement may be more accurate one or maybe two years ago with Rollins struggling and with Reyes injured.) Ramirez might be the best shortstop overall being a five tool player with potential to have a 40-40 season.

Spectrum sucks. Too bad I have two more packs of 2008 Spectrum for later posts.

  1. Thanks for bringing Reyes up. He’s on my fantasy team. He’s a “do not cut” player. I wish I could release him. Do you have any salt to rub into that wound?
