I really can’t wait for Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix!! I am still mulling whether to buy tickets to see it live. Anyways we have one more Strikeforce card before that. There are two title fights but honestly the casual fans more than likely only care about the Herschel Walker bout. Anyways…
Nick Diaz vs Evangelista Santos
Nick Diaz by Knockout in the Fourth
How the hell did Cyborg Santos get a title shot with a just a win against Marius Zaromskis (who has never won in the states BTW) and a 18-13 record. Strikeforce has some real questionable matchmaking. But one thing is for sure Cyborg would be look to bang and Nick Diaz would more often than not get the better of it. Diaz will win this easily.
Ronaldo Souza vs Robbie Lawler
Ronaldo Souza by Submission in the Third
Again so Robbie Lawler knocks out an over the hill Matt Lindland and gets a title shot (but to be fair that was some sick KO). Hopefully Jacare doesn’t stand with Lawler and drags/ lures whatever Lawler into his game and use his slick BJJ to secure a submission win.
Herschel Walker vs Scott Carson
Herschel Walker by Judges’ Decision
Scott Carson has a decent 4-1 record but if you look into his fights further his wins were against fighter who have a 0-1, 1-2, 0-2 and 0-3 records. But if anything, Carson did retire 3 fighters of those fighters and in MMA anything could happen like say Chad Griggs vs Bobby Lashley.
Roger Gracie vs Trevor Prangley
Trevor Prangley by Judges’ Decision
Trevor Prangley is quite the journeyman and coming off perhaps his biggest win of his career, spoiling The Dean of Mean Keith Jardine comeback tour. You know Roger Gracie is going to have world class BJJ and he is coming off a win against a washed up Kevin Randleman. Prangley is in fact going to Roger Gracie biggest test (in MMA) to date and I am really interested how he would fare. I have Prangley for this fight but I wouldn’t bet money on it. In fact most have Roger Gracie as the favorite.
