Just $94,163 Will Get You a “Perfect” Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card

Doesn’t inflation suck? Gas costs $5 a gallon, a slice of pizza in Times Square cost $4.00 a slice oh and a 1979-80 Wayne Gretzky (aka The Great One) O-Pee-Chee rookie card rated Gem Mint by PSA costs $94,163, easily breaking the record of the highest price paid for a hockey card. That is a like 157 raw copies of the same card (Beckett has a low book value of $600), 376 Gretzky autographs ($250 each) or if you prefer, pretty decent car.

I hate to rain of the buyer’s parade but is it just me or does the card look chipped on the right side?
