2017 Topps WWE Road to Wrestlemania Rack Packs

Wrestlemania is right around the corner and I have two rack packs of 2017 Topps WWE Road to Wrestlemania. This set highlights all the major events building up to WWE’s biggest event!

2017 topps wwe road to wrestlemania

The Club and the Godfather cards are some sort of parallel, bronze? It is not a good look in my opinion. I didn’t pull one but with John Cena Tribute cards in the product I guess he replaces Hulk Hogan as the go to wrestler to put in every WWE set.

Honestly Road to Wrestlemania is not my favorite set year after year. I find they make for boring pack breaks and they rarely change up the formula. But if you look back in my blog, I seem to buy at least a pack of this set every year and this year I didn’t pull anything interesting…

So some positives. The Wrestlemania inserts stand out which only proves that simpler is better and it is kind of fun to look back at everything that happen in the WWE in the last few months. But I am probably going to put these cards in my bulk box and probably won’t look at it again.

(Wait… I just look up the set and you can pull a Shinsuke Nakamura autograph is this set???. Ok I may have to roll the dice on a hobby box.)

I Picked Up Another Rack Pack of 2016 Topps Road to Wrestlemania and

I pulled a shirt relic card of Paige, 21/350.

Paige Relic

Interestingly enough one of the corners of this relic card is slightly dented like my pull from my other pack of 2016 Topps Road to Wreslemania.  It is straight out of the pack and the other cards aren’t dented. Anyways, here are some of my other pulls from the pack.

So I am 2 for 2 with 2016 Topps Road of Wrestlemania rack packs!

I Picked Up a Rack Pack of 2016 Topps Road to Wrestlemania and

I picked up a rack pack of 2016 Topps Road to Wrestlemania and…

Kevin Von Erich Autograph

I pulled a Kevin Von Erich autograph!!

It is an autograph from a rack pack.
The Von Erichs are a legendary wrestling family.
The autograph is on card which never happens especially in a Topps WWE product.
It is 1/50!

One of the cons of an on card autograph is that one of corners of the card is slightly dented straight out of the pack.

Still the pull of just one rack pack of Road to Wrestlemania has beaten all the pulls of boxes of past years’ Road to Wrestlemania.

2015 Topps Road to Wrestlemania Blaster Break

I have today a blaster of 2015 Topps Road to Wrestlemania.

I have to be honest Road to Wrestlemania is not one my favorite sets. The previous year’s product was kind of blah and not much seems to have changed this year. (The hits in the set are also kind of blah for the record.) One thing about this set is in a blaster and probably in a hobby box too you get almost as many inserts as base cards. The inserts are about what you expect: a ton of Rock cards, a ton of John Cena cards, highlights of past Wrestlemanias and Hall of Famers. My favorite of the bunch are the bizarre Wrestlemania matches inserts. You also get a blue parallel every other pack.

Every blaster comes with a relic card and I pulled

Dolph Ziggle Relic Card

a Dolph Ziggler shirt card. I honestly find Dolph Ziggle boring but at least this relic card doesn’t have the usual boring white swatch.

WWE Legends seems to have a rough time as a late. Hulk Hogan is probably the biggest name to be in the news and he is all over this product. He is on every box, on a few hits, a few base cards and he is even has his own insert set.

Topps Road to Wrestlemania Hulk Hogan

Unfortunately now he is scrubbed from the WWE Universe and I wonder will we finally have a break from all the Hulk Hogan cards. Between the WWE cards and the TNA cards I have a ton and I mean a ton of random Hulk Hogan cards. Speaking of which, guess who else has a card in this set

Topps Road to Wrestlemania Jimmy Superfly Snuka

Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka. He too is being erased from the WWE Universe.

Wrestlemania Pack Break: 2014 Topps WWE & My Wrestlemania XXX Predictions

Wrestlemania is this Sunday! I wanted to opened some sweet WWE packs but unfortunately the only things for sale were 2014 Topps WWE rack packs. There weren’t even blasters, I checked. But I got incredibly lucky the last time I opened a 2014 Topps WWE rack pack… but unfortunately I can’t capture lightning in a bottle two times in a row.

I actually got a bunch of doubles and the only interesting card was the Mankind insert. Mankind was my favorite wrestler back in the day and I really should go through my cards and sort out all my Mick Foley/ Mankind/ Dude Love/ Cactus Jack cards. I should have a bunch.

Anyways, here are my Wrestlemania XXX predictions for what it is worth.

Fatal four-way tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship

El Torito

Los Matadores and Ryback & Curtis Axel have been non- factors in the tag team division. The Real Americans have hinted a breakup in the past and this could be where they start feuding after coming so close to the tag team titles only to fall short probably because a miscommunication or a backstab. That leave the Usos retaining.

The Shield vs Kane and The New Age Outlaws

Shield vs New Age Outlaws

I foresee Kane and The New Age Outlaws winning. It creates the doom and gloom situation that Triple H and his lackeys may actually win. Plus a loss will accelerate the breakup of the Shield.

Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational

WWE Divas

This is going to be a mess and there are going to be so many botches. All the divas will probably be targeting AJ Lee in the beginning. AJ Lee will be hurt outside the ring only to suddenly steal a win after a big spot taking out all the divas. This creates the most interesting story lines in the Diva division. The alternative is one of the Bellas winning for the Total Divas show…

André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Andre the Giant

Big Show has to be the favorite to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The storyline and the parallels are just too obvious… may too obvious.

John Cena vs Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt vs John Cena

John Cena always wins.

The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar

The steak just can’t end here. There has been a lot less buildup for this X vs the The Streak match and if Brock Lesnar wins, it would just be a waste and it would overshadow Daniel Bryan’s moment.

Daniel Bryan vs Triple H

Daniel Bryan vs Triple H

Daniel Bryan has to win this match. It will probably be a long grueling match, there will probably be ref bumps and there will probably be run ins by Kane and the New Age Outlaws. Still there is no way Daniel Bryan doesn’t make it to the main event. It would be sweet if Triple H actually taps out to the Yes! Lock. It will give Daniel Bryan the most momentum and the “you tapped out” chants would be sweet.

Randy Orton vs Batista vs Daniel Bryan

The big Wrestlemania moment has to be Daniel Bryan overcoming impossible odds to be the champ again. Daniel Bryan will be tired and hurt after his match with Triple H. He may actually not make it to the ring right away and a doctor may be pleading with him to just go to the hospital. Randy Orton and Batista will team up to take out Bryan. With Bryan out, Randy Orton will suddenly RKO Batista but Batista kicks out, leaving the door open for Bryan. A couple of false finishes later Bryan covers Orton and the rest is history.
